BBQ @ Officeworks, Southport

It was a great successful day at Office Works Southport. Despite a touch of bad weather towards the end we were able to raise quite a lot of funds with the sausage sizzle. We are now very much on our way to sending one of our youngest members of the team to China. We literally drummed up business with our Lion Dance which attracted many shoppers. The office works Staff were also extremely helpful and friendly and I would like to personally thank Leo and Angelique who helped make the day run so smoothly as well as Coral whom made this Day possible.  Thank you.

Special thanks also to the exceptional work from all the volunteers of the school that came down. You guys have always been there for the Academy and I thank you all so much. Thank you to Wayan & Parents, Geoff Lougoon (SiSook), Doug, The Rangi Family, Dave Bower, Ben, Olli, Curt, Mitchell, William, Andy & Sam. You guys worked so hard and we really appreciate it!

See you all again next Saturday!

Children's Book Launch

The team was invited by accomplished children’s author Kerry Brown and talented Illustrator Michelle Pike to perform Lion Dance at their official Book Launch in Brisbane.  The Book Titled ‘Poppy Wash’ is a funny, heart-warming story about friendship, family and dragons. The book is aimed at 4–7 year olds and is available through most book stores and ABC shops. Two kids from the academy were lucky enough to get a copy of the book signed by both the Illustrator and the Author. The academy was also awarded with a limited edition print of the illustrators art work also signed and dated. It was a very memorable day and an honor to take part in the books history. we all hope to do events like this again.

Lion Dance @Victoria Sq, Broadbeach

Great performance in Victoria Square, Broadbeach last week. We performed for a private function at the Ming Palace. The Lion dance attracted hundreds of locals on the busy Friday night. Well done to the team who always do their best to present the team in such a professional manner that we have come to expect. After the team packed up we enjoyed Late night Yum Cha together, was truly a memorable night.
